He Rides the Storm

Isaiah 41:10

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Negative situations are never prevented by God; that is not how He works.

These words have often struck me as very powerful.

Psalm 18:10

"he soared on the wings of the wind."

They are very revealing. The storms that rise against our God are not defeated; rather, He rides upon them and uses them to accomplish His purposes.

You are often astounded by how many difficult roads are made available for the good, how Joseph, a young aspirant, is imprisoned, and how Moses, a lovely young child, is thrown into the Nile.

You would have thought Providence would have stopped these opening pits of devastation. Well, He might have said, "Peace be still," to the storm.

However, there was an even better option: riding on it.

Just remember, the storms we experience are significant to God.
