How can I be saved? part 2

How can I be saved?

Repentance is the fruit of grace.

The Bible teaches that repentance flows from grace by faith.

The apostle Paul puts it simply:

For by grace, you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:9
What is the fruit of grace?

Repentance:

The word “repent” means “to have another mind”. It means you change your mind about your sin, and about God, and you decide to turn away from that sin to follow Jesus.

Our redemption is by His precious blood, and that alone; but the rewards of the future, and the enjoyment of what God means by life, are conditioned upon our obedience. Glory, honor, and peace are within your reach if you will accept the reconciliation offered you in Christ, which will bring you into atonement with God; and if you will live to do your Heavenly Father’s will.

So how do I become born again?

If you fully trust in Jesus alone as the payment for your sins. You will receive the gift of faith in Jesus Christ that brings about a real and direct and personal relationship with God.

Being born again means that you reject your old life and you intend to start a new one following the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Repentance comes from reading God's word and realizing that you have fallen short of God's minimum moral requirements for righteousness, God's moral law the 10 commandments shows us our sinfulness, it's like a mirror.

Pray to God in the name of Jesus, admit the things you have done which are wrong, and make a promise to God that you will worship him and put Him first in everything you do.

Turning from sin to obedience proceeds from faith. When all is said and done both faith and repentance are critically necessary for salvation.

But the order of salvation is clear:

1) Grace: A gift from God, getting what you don't deserve

2) Faith: Is a gift from God, so no one can boast

3) Repentance: Is the response to God's amazing love by the giving of His Son Jesus Christ our Savior John 3:16

John 3:16 Bible verse

Therefore if anyone is in Christ, this person is a new creation; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their wrongdoings against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

What we have become:

Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, to be reconciled to God. He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

2 Corinthians 5:17-21

17 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

18 And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us the task of reconciling people to him.

19 For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.

20 So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”

21 For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.

Things every Christian should be doing every day:

  • Pray. Our prayer time is our personal time with God.

  • Read Your Bible.

  • Be Thankful.

  • Be Forgiving.
