Jesus, 7 last words at the cross.

"Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." - Luke 23:34

Even in agony, Jesus modeled forgiveness. Let us follow His example and forgive those who have wronged us, even if they do not know the extent of their actions.

"Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise." - Luke 23:43

The thief on the cross had nothing to offer, yet Jesus offered him salvation. Trust in Christ and experience eternal life in paradise.

"Woman, here is your son," and to the disciple, "Here is your mother." John 19:26-27

As Jesus faced death, He entrusted the care of His mother to His disciple. We too are called to care for our loved ones, even in difficult times.

"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" Matthew 27:46 and Mark 15:34

Jesus bore our sins and suffered separation from God so we wouldn't have to. Turn to Him and experience reconciliation with our heavenly Father.

"I am thirsty." John 19:28

In His humanity, Jesus experienced physical thirst. He understands our struggles and desires to quench our spiritual thirst with His living water.

"It is finished." John 19:30

On the cross, Jesus declared victory over sin and death. His sacrifice made a way for us to be reconciled with God. It is finished indeed!

"Father, into your hands I commit my spirit." Luke 23:46

Even in death, Jesus trusted in His Father's sovereignty. Let us too trust in God's plan and purpose for our lives, knowing He is always in control.
