Love is a Being

1 John 4:8

Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

We've spent the last several days looking at the three major virtues: faith, hope, and love. The Bible tells us the greatest of these three is Love. The reason is straightforward: Faith is a power, hope is a promise, and love is a person. That person is none other than the Lord Himself.

Jesus said, “He that has seen Me, has seen the Father.” Christ came to reveal to every one of us the God who was previously unknown.

There are many religions that have left man confused and dismayed by life's unforeseen, twists and turns.

Even the Christian Faith is riddled with jumbled ideas and fictitious fantasies about the One True God, leading most of us to be driven by guilt, shame, or fear rather than faith, hope, and love.

But God is Love, and all our questions about God are answered when we gaze into the face of Jesus. So now there is faith, hope, and love – the greatest of which is Love. Faith is a force, hope is a hope, but love is a person.

And once this Person befriends you and walks beside you on a daily basis, your faith will soar to uncharted heights, and your hope will be solidly set in heaven as you sail the high seas of this spinning globe.
