Jeremiah 17:7

Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,

And whose hope is the Lord.

The good news is that the strength, sustenance, and promises of God serve as a foundation for a life of faith in the midst of a world that is always changing.

Although things could change, the future is as certain as God's character. Those who put their faith in God have hope in his message no matter what happens.

The Bible makes it abundantly apparent that faith in God's promises is manifested in following his commands because ....

1 John 3:3

"All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure."

Therefore, those who are "heavenly oriented" turn away from evil, stand up for the weak, fight for justice, seek peace, give freely, and even love their enemies.
